Located 107 Km. from Cancun, along the Mayan Riviera, just 16 Km. before the Mayan Ruins of Tulum and 4 Km. past Akumal. Three caves with a "cenote", sink hole in the underground river, have been discovered in the park.
The main cave is now suitable for an easy walking tour which has been enhanced with indirect lighting for a better view and enjoyment of the thousands of stalactites, stalagmites and natural sculptures, formed throughout five million years. You are also able to see plenty of the local wildlife and birds.
World famous ancient Maya city. Between 800 and 1200 a.d. it was the center of political, religious and military power of the mayan culture. It is the most visited archaeological site in the peninsula of Yucatan, due to its extraordinary architectural beauty and its geographical location. It offers one of the most impressive pyramids in the world: the famous Kukulcan-Pyramid. Twice each year, during the spring and autumn equinoxes (March 21 and September 23), the setting sun casts shadows that make the form of a serpent on the staircase leading to the top of the pyramid, an event which is witnessed by thousands of spectators.
The lost city of the Maya, is beautiful and mysterious, a visit here is very worthwhile. Its name means "ruffled waters", derived from the five lakes in the vicinity, and it is one of the oldest Mayan settlements on the peninsula. It actually has the highest pyramid in the area: the great pyramid Nohoch Mul, is 137 ft. in height. These ruins were not discovered until the late 19th century. Even today, only a small fraction of the many structures in this vast site have been excavated and this, together with the remoteness and jungle setting, contribute to the feeling of exploring new ground. Diverse species of birds and butterflies frequent the area.
Garrafón Park is located on Isla Mujeres, on the south facing cliffs at the tip of the island. Garrafón is famous throughout the region for its wonderful coral reefs and crystal clear waters. Easily accessible and filled with life they attract professional divers and novices alike who come here to experience breathtakingly beautiful underwater scenery! Getting here is quite easy from Cancun, the distance out to the island is 7 Km. (4.5 mi.) and traveling time is about 30 minutes.

The magic city, whose pyramid was built in only one night, as the legend tells. It is one of the most well known of the Maya cities, and rated by many archaeologists as the finest. The governor's Palace is a majestic 322 ft. long masterpiece of intricate latticework and mosaics depicting serpents and impressive masks of Chaac, the god of rain. It is permitted to climb the largest structure, the Pyramid of the Magician, and the view from the top is well worth the effort, though the steps are extremely steep. Time permitting, don't miss the superb light and sound show here, performed in the evenings throughout the year in spanish and english.
"Small inlet" in Maya, was for more than a century one of the most important Mayan ceremonial centers and port. Today it is an incredible eco-archaeological park.
